Professional shunter with great pulling power.
Heaps of power, little wear and tear - and smooth pulling away.
Drive on the rails is provided by all four wheels, while the rail guidance system ensures derailing-free travel at speeds of up to 50 km/h. The advantage behind this solution is clear: the high levels of friction between the rubber wheels and the steel rails creates a superb amount of traction. Accordingly, the Unimog can manoeuvre towed loads of up to 1000 t.
The torque converter clutch of the Unimog provides around 2.5-times more torque when pulling-away. This allows the Unimog to pull away smoothly even in the case of high towed loads – and all that with very few gear changes and without the need to use the clutch. This not only protects your freight but also your vehicle. And it even reduces clutch wear.
Single-crewed shunting operations? The optionally available radio remote control allows the driver to position the carriages, to couple and uncouple them, and to always control the entire train from the front, all without the need for a second person serving as a guide.
Environmentally friendly as standard.
The clean, powerful and economical drive system helps make sure things stay that way. But even the low noise emissions of the vehicle are a clear plus point in favour of the Unimog, particularly when operating near residential areas.
Broad range of additional uses.
For the road-rail Unimog, too, there are numerous attachments available which can be fitted and removed in just a few simple steps. Still disguised as a shunting vehicle, it doesn't take long for the Unimog to be transformed into a snowplough or for it to be equipped with a front-mounted sweeper for clearing up the works yard.
